If I recall, I think it was Sony who worried about a flood of these 
UMPCs hitting the market and affecting their laptop sales.  Looks like 
their worst fears are realized.  Of course, I don't see why Sony doesn't 
try to enter this market.  They had one UMPC that I know of, one of the 
smallest with a built in cellular modem. 

As for HP using Ubuntu, don't hold your breath.  They're staunch MS 
supporters and have dragged their feet when it comes to releasing Linux 
PCs unlike Dell.
