Any word on if and when this will be implemented in Ubuntu? For those
not in the know, this would allow Linux from the time the kernel boots
to be GLX graphically accelerated BEFORE starting X.org making all kinds
of interesting things possible. Imagine having multi-monitor support
when the kernel boots and not just when X.org starts, or imagine Ubuntu
having a 3D animated startup screen unlike the frame buffer startup
screen it uses now.
