We can certainly do this while remaining a-political and even though the
event is politically charged, Unconventional Action is a non-partisan
group. I think what's great about the opportunities the DNC provides is
that it provides us with lots of people who care about social justice,
openness, computer security, sharing, and all the other things that come
bundled with Ubuntu. A lot of the press around the DNC protests sounds
negative like "oh, let's crash the DNC" but in reality it's a much more
positive thing. What we want is for people to come to the DNC and for
people to take back control of the streets for themselves and in other
reclamation acts like that, realize that anything is possible. We want
them to be inspired to create change and re-think the conventional,
which is what Ubuntu is all about.
