probably not... With the 3ware card you configure raid using the cards utility - raid 0 or 1 with the two port card.  Ubuntu sees the array as a hard drive during installation just as though you were installing to a single disk.  couldn't be simpler.  You can also take advantage of the cards management capability (3dm2) with this package:
