2. did that but i don't know what to do while there to fix this problem.
3. I don't have knoppix but I doubt i need it. I'm betting there is a simple
command to edit a config file somewhere. Something must have gotten changed
while mucking around.
When I did the mdadm --add the first time i pointed to the wrong partition.
I used mdadm --remove to remove it and then added the right one. I bet that
did more than I thought. At least that's my guess.
