[CoLoCo] Ginormous Fonts on Ubuntu/Kubuntu and Other Issues

I've had that problem with Ubuntu as well (Haven't tried a full Kubuntu
install) and I've found that if my initial live CD desktop is not 'small'
enough to suite me, I reboot until it comes up with an acceptable desktop
resolution.

Then I install and the login screen remains at that resolution. From what
I've been told, the only way to actually change the login screen resolution
is to edit the configuration file for X, which I've never been successful in
doing (correctly).

At any rate, try rebooting the live CD a couple of times and see if it'll
give you a better resolution.

Also, if you have a KVM switch in between your monitor and the computer, you
may want to bypass it for the install. It may also make a difference.
