Are you using Evolution or Thunderbird? If just the default its Evolution.
Most likely there was an error in connecting to your mail server at
the time of sending out the email. I'm not sure but their should be a
right click option on the email or the mail box itself to attempt
resend. Their should also be an error log somewhere stating what went
wrong with the sending of that email. As I'm not the most
knowledgeable with Evolution I'm forwarding this into the Colorado
Ubuntu Groups mailing list to get some more ideas.
