Strange bedfellows?  (Really, just my lack of understanding of what I
assume is a lobby.)

The OSA (or OSFA, depending on which source you see) lists as its address:

Curiousity lead me to de-acronym MVC, which I know as
Model-View-Controller to the more contextually relevant:
Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti

Founding players include groups we know and love in addition to the
aforementioned KDE: Canonical, Red Hat, ibiblio.org, The GNOME
project, etc.  And on the various advisory boards, I recognize the
obvious names: Tim O'Reilly, Mark Shuttleworth, Michael Tiemann, Jono
Bacon. (It's probably more telling that I recognize so few names...
not enough of a fanboy to hobnob with all the greats.)
