[DC LoCo] gvfs-afc-volume runaway process and other Natty annoyances

Hi:

With an iPhone plugged in I get a cpu racing situation,
and don't want to burn out a new to me EeePC in the heat...

I have other issues with Natty, but that one is particularly
annoying at the moment, as if I forget to pull the device
my CPU gets too much exercise in the heat...

Xemacs screen size is an issue, doesn't remember
the height differences so have to resize the window to see
what I'm typing on c-x c-s or c-x c-w or anything for that matter.

Last I checked the X windows issues with PowerPC were still
there, looks like vertical hold problems on the backing of things,
move a window or it disappears and the bit's behind it are f***'ed
up, screen trash left all over the place...

And some more things, but I'll use a little restraint ;-/
