[DC LoCo] Fwd: ubuntu-districtofcolumbia will expire soon from locoteams

I wouldn't mind getting back to TOI meetings. My biggest issue has been the time. During daylight savings, it's not a problem. But, during the shorter days, it becomes unsafe for a little guy like me to travel on foot at evening hours. I don't own a car, and couldn't drive one if I did. Never got the hang of those things.

Previously, it was "edit a wiki page defending your life" with a
laundry list of what you've been up to, and gather the ranks to show
up in an IRC meeting. I should check and see if it's largely the same
story.

I feel that the council has a different view of what "LoCo" means than
I personally do. There seems to be much more focus in participation
in global mailing lists, bug jamming, and development -- three things
that I'm not particularly good at. My own focus has been advocacy and
education in the "local community" which is what I thought "LoCo"
stood for.

Well, I've written to Jono and Jorge and am waiting to hear back. But
I imagine we need to beef- / tofu-up this
http://loco.ubuntu.com/teams/ubuntu-districtofcolumbia -- preferably
with photos (they like photos). http://dc.ubuntu-us.org/ is seriously
out of date. I guess I'll open that to more editors. Maybe we can
Doodle (TM) for a time that we can meet the Community Council in IRC
as a small army.

It's still on a calendar but as far as I know, folks haven't shown up
in quite some time. (I know I haven't been there nearly as frequently
as I used to be. I wanna get back to simply dining there, not to
mention the whole LoCo thing.)
