[DC LoCo] App question: update manager setting for notification

Good evening. I have Lubuntu 12.04 Beta on a refurb PC I bought. Has not crashed once;
flash works; java plugin works; CDs and DVDs  play; and LibreOffice works. I have
even installed the GUFW firewall and ClamAV/TK virus checker.


My question is about Update Manager and going to the 12.04 official release.


1) Start Update manager.
2) Click Settings button.
3) Click the Updates tab.
4) For "Notify me of new version", choose the drop-down, "For any new version".
5) Close the window.


Will this setting (in #4) upgrade me from Beta to Official, or should I do something like upgrade
from the Alternate Install CD directly at that time?
