[DC LoCo] Citadel groupware: too good to be true?

I have heard about Citadel and I am impressed, based on what I have heard. It is "groupware" that does email, calendar, tasks, forums, address books, instant messaging, wiki, using open standards like IMAP and iCal, and it is FLOSS. I listened to a podcast (FLOSS Weekly) with the creator. The interviewers really focused on the history and the BBS origin, but it seems to be well beyond that now.
What impresses me most (besides the fact that it is free software using open standards) is that offers so many features and seems very easy to install & administer.
Does anyone have any experience using it? Does anyone know a small group/organization that might benefit from using it? I am interested in setting it up for a group that wants to use it (at no charge). Does this group (DC LoCo) have any interest in using it?
I have an account on http://uncensored.citadel.org/, for getting a feel for it.
