I've heard some good things about Bodhi Linux. Its a lightweight E17 distro
that's on a semi-rolling release based on the Ubuntu LTS releases with lots
of backporting.

Having a distro that's very lightweight without compromising modern
features is great to have. It'll should also be great for gaming. Right now
is the best time to be a Linux Gamer with the Steam for Linux beta just
days away. Also, more game developers than ever before are now supporting
Linux. Most of the game industry is shunning Windows 8 and Windows RT,
except for those few developers that are solely dependent on the Xbox for
revenue.
