Hey everyone,
I'm having an issue with a 1TB NTFS formatted external drive. It's only
powered by the USB and attached to a box with Ubuntu 12.04. The external
drive has somehow virtually made itself non-existent.
The syslog has it as /dev/sdb1 before automatically unmounting because of
an I/O error, yet i can't mount it because it says it's not there
(/dev/sdb1).
Is there any way that I can somehow (remotely) get the computer to
recognize this USB device again?
Oh, and there's one large caveat. I do NOT have physical access to the box,
it's in another hemisphere. I can only reboot remotely. No unplugging it
and plugging it back in again.
Thanks!
