Simon,
Vern knows that my '72 Econoline is going to Columbus, so there is
one potential bus. I didn't know it was three days, either, so thanks
for the info. I can certainly take several other fearless and
adventurous people who might be brave enough to risk the voyage. :D
However, I have filled out the volunteer form offering to help in any
way they can use me, so I don't yet know if I will be going earlier,
and/or staying later than most other folks. I guess I need to find
out before to long though, so I can make the hotel reservations. I
got a hotel room last year for both Friday night, and Saturday night.
That was definitely the way to go. I got to get up at a decent hour,
go to the fest, hang out at the after party until nearly midnight, get
a good night's sleep, and drive home the next day well rested. For
what it's worth, I managed to break the registration form for the fest
and register myself 3 times, and charge my credit card 3 times. They
have rewritten the code, and had me test the form several more times,
and it is now fully Charlie proofed :^O Anyway, they offered to refund
the excess payments, but I told them to keep the $s and use it to help
with costs, so I do theoretically have 2 additional all conference
passes the someone can make use of if anyone wants to enjoy the warm
and fuzzy karma at my expense. Will you be at the April LUG meeting?
We should probably start making plans for a FWLUG presence at OhioLinux.
