[ubuntu-us-in] IU LinuxFest - Conference Pack on its way!

I requested a pack of official swag for the IU LinuxFest and have been advised that it's on its way.

A conference pack contains 4 t-shirts, 200 Ubuntu leaflets and 200 Ubuntu stickers. I already have a t-shirt of my own, so I won't participate in the inevitable battle to decide who gets to wear these (and keep them). If these come in the same sizes as the ones I got before there will be an XL, 2 Ls, and an M.

I received no response to my request for Edgy CDs--not surprising considering the policy to only send them out to Official teams--so we need to take responsibility to burn some off for ourselves. That leads to questions like "How many?". I'd not aim to have too many Edgy CDs left over, since Feisty is coming out in about a month, but then I'm not sure how many CD giveaways we should expect.

Brett has been working on a CD label, but doesn't have a printer, so does someone have the ability to print CD labels for us? I can't imagine it'd be too difficult to bring CDs and labels separately and label the CDs there at the LinuxFest. Does Kinko's print CD labels?

Also, should we have CDs in jewel cases, our own custom-printed sleeves (a la www.papercdcase.com or something), generic white paper sleeves? The simplest (and cheapest) solution would be to use generic white paper sleeves, of which I have quite a few (the type with a window so you can see the CD label), the nicest looking solution (and the most expensive) would probably be having jewel cases with an insert.

What else do we want to do in the sense of giveaway stuff?

The leaflets we're getting should do a good enough job of describing Ubuntu. I think it'd be wise to have some sort of hand-out paper about the LoCo Team with contact information so people can find us once they get home play with Ubuntu on their own computer and realize they feel the overwhelming need to join us or, you know, seek help from us. A small leaflet or even something as small as a bookmark would do, I think.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm willing to put down some money in order to make this happen right and look good, like say buying the CD-Rs to burn and/or paying to have things printed out nice and shiny-like at a Kinko's.

I'm looking forward to this event, and I hope more than a few of us get the chance to go.

Anyhow, I hope this finds you all doing well! I'm going to go give sleep a chance.

Take care!

Simón
