[ubuntu-us-in] higher education

I was thinking the same thing, actually. :-P

Wow, this topic sort of exploded today, huh? I think keeping this type
of information indexed is an interesting idea.

My boss Vern and I are half of the Technology department, as well as
teachers, at Canterbury School here in Fort Wayne. We use Ubuntu on
most of our servers, and have introduced it as a dual-boot option on
all our newer computers; we do have a classroom that's modeled on the
inACCESS model of 1:1 computing with just Ubuntu. We have our students
use Ubuntu in the classes we teach (programming classes, Java, C and
Python).

I personally don't think it's a good idea to make information
password-protected in the context of an Ubuntu Local Community Team,
though, is my take on that aspect of it. Ubuntu is about openness and
community, and all of Ubuntu's work is done in the open and on the
record.

Just my pennies.

P.S. Welcome aboard, Doc!
