As members of the Louisiana Ubuntu Local Community Team we represent both
our team and the greater Ubuntu community. As a team and as individuals we
should strive to treat others fairly and with respect. We want to give
others a positive image of who we are which in turn will help us spread
Ubuntu and open source software.

Please take a moment and review the Ubuntu Code of Conduct.

As of today, 2008-03-03, 11 of our 29 members have signed the code of
conduct. A short summary of the code of conduct is below. Signing the code
of conduct is not a requirement for membership, however it is strongly
encouraged.

For the full code of conduct please see
http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct.

Ground rules

This Code of Conduct covers your behaviour as a member of the Ubuntu
Community, in any forum, mailing list, wiki, web site, IRC channel,
install-fest, public meeting or private correspondence. The Ubuntu Community
Council will arbitrate in any dispute over the conduct of a member of the
community.

    * Be Considerate
    * Be Respectful
    * Be Collaborative
    * When you disagree, consult others
    * When you are unsure, ask for help
    * Step down considerately

Mailing lists and web forums

Mailing lists and web forums are an important part of the Ubuntu community
platform. This code of conduct applies very much to your behaviour in those
forums too. Please follow these guidelines in addition to the general code
of conduct:

   1. Please use a valid email address to which direct responses can be
made.
   2. Please avoid flamewars, trolling, personal attacks, and repetitive
arguments. On technical matters, the Technical Review Board can make a final
decision. On matters of community governance, the Community Council can make
a final decision.

Again, the full code of conduct can be view at
http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct. In order to sign the code of
conduct you will need a gpg key. If you need help signing the code see
please let us know and someone will be happy to help you.
