I don't know what OS they use, but I suspect we can guess. But they
might be advisable now that Ubuntu is getting "grandma ready". The old
solid one in an underprivileged neighborhood here is TecsChange
(Roxbury, MA): http://www.tecschange.org/ -- Good reputation, but I
haven't worked directly with them.
There's a school based group also, but they have a supply of Windows

"Technology Goes Home". They put new keyboards and mice on computers
being rotated out of labs and send them home with any kid + adult who
jointly complete 25 hours Windows training :-( . Since the BPS IT is
100% Win-centric, it almost makes sense. (My daughter carries a
MacBook to class. Subvert the dominant paradigm.)
