Ubuntu Live 2008 canceled!?

Citation Needed,

I wasn't impressed by the Ubuntu LIVE event, it was expensive and
vendor driven and not at all what it should be, i.e an event for
ubuntu users of all kinds. My guess is that they didn't get enough
people.

As a programmer I wasn't going to go anyway since UDS in my place.
