[ubuntu-us-ma] Is Ubuntu-centricity holding us back?

Ubuntu *is* a vehicle to promote free software, but *this LoCo* is exclusive
to Ubuntu. Because of that, many many people (i keep meeting more) are not
getting involved who otherwise would. Imagine this: if the entire Ubuntu
LoCo network around the world, was not dependent upon Canonical/Ubuntu, but
simply chose to promote Ubuntu primarily as the best GNU+Linux distro *right
now*! Still promoting Ubuntu, but not exclusively. Instead we would be a
network supporting ubuntu and more based on free association.
As discussed, a separate group would not cause any problems in losing
sponsorship.
