Hi,
HP has made an effort to make their printers work with Linux
distributions. The URL
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing has a link to
supported printers for Linux. In my experience, the default Ubuntu
hplip setup for the HP 3390 that I own has had some gaps. HP provides
software (hp-setup, hp-check) that allows a user to identify these
gaps, which then allows the user to complete setting up the printer
(if not done by default) and install additional packages to address
the issues.
