[ubuntu-us-mi] using Ubuntu (was: Meeting tonight)

Cliff,

That's cool. Welcome to the list! We also hang in IRC on freenode at
#ubuntu-us-mi if you want to chat in there. I'm online more today because
I couldn't get into work because of snowpocloypse 2014. I think Chrysler
is open but it's not going to have a lot of people there.

I do hope Blizzard supports more Linux. As they say "the proof is in the
pudding" and as far as support goes, we'll see when the pudding is ready.
 Ahem.

My brother uses Win8 right now and he does like it. I'm on 7 (for WoW and
my work machine runs 7) for now and it's fine. I just don't want to futz
with "getting things working" if you know what I mean. I've done that
already; one of the reasons why I run Ubuntu instead of some other distros.

I'm running the following: Ubuntu 13.10 and Win7 dual boot on my
custom-built PC, Mac OSX Mtn Lion on my Macbook Air (I need to update to
Mavericks but only after I get a new drive; I'm under the recall), ChormeOS
on an HP 11, iOS on my iPod touch, Android Jellybean on my LC F3 (Virgin
Mobile), and Android Kitkat on my Nexus 7. Like I said before, I think I
have too many devices!

As far as WoW goes, it depends on your graphics card. I have a ATI 7770 in
my rig and it does a great job under windows for WoW and D3. I need to
fire up Steam on my Ubuntu side to see if I'm getting good FPS over here.

Stay warm up there! It's awfully cold down here and I think it's colder up
where you are!
