Oy.  I'd like to go to this one, but I don't expect to get to bed
until around 3 tonight...  We shall see!

I'd be interested to hear how Lubuntu (Ubuntu base system + LXDE
environment) fares compared to Puppy and the like - it seems like the
best balance of light weight and still being intuitive for someone
who's never used Linux before that I've found.

(On an unrelated note, I have a non-OS-related hardware problem with
my Thinkpad - if anyone's good with diagnosing and/or fixing a
possibly cracking board let me know...)
