Hmmm... How about some fun :)
Would this be too difficult? Everybody brings a laptop/netbook or
something to communicate with on line. For those that don't have
something, they buddy-up with someone who does. Then, get an irc
channel and get everyone on it (we have one, right?), then people can
start to share what they are interested in learning/sharing--their
techno interests--and then if enough interest develops on some topic,
people naturally gravitate into interest-based sub-groups of 3-6 or so
people. Once a topic is identified, the people physically get
together and share. Probably need name tags were people can put their
irc name. If someone stayed on line in the group, then if there were
someone from a distance they could semi-participate in the group
through the chat room? Might be tough unless each group could stream
an audio... But this is something we could aim for some time.
Does this make sense?
