This morning I am getting peculiar behavior from my computer.
It is booting into what appears to be the Ubuntu ver 13.10 Live
CD/DVD without having the a Live CD/DVD in the drive.

Grub displays:
Try Ubuntu without installing
Install Ubuntu
OEM install (for manufacturers)
Check disc for defects

A bit of background:
Back in Oct 2013 I got a new computer but have been using Ubuntu
12.04 from my old drive til Ubuntu 14.04 came along.
12.04 worked fine and I had not gotten around to installing 14.04
(I was a bit puzzled about GPT and UEFI )

One of the things that finally pushed me to install
14.04 was that the new computer has more memory and the 12.04 install
did not have a large enough swap partition to hibernate with the new
computer - which I missed having hibernate.

But a few days ago did I get around to formatting the new 1 TByte
drive (GPT) and installing 14.04. 14.04 seemed to be running fine and I
have been gradually getting it set up the way I like.

I make extensive setups like Symlinks to a 'home partition',
key assignments to my liking etc etc so to make it work the way I like.
I was in the process of this doing this setup and 14.04 seemed to
running fine.

Then this morning it will only boot into what appears to be the Ubuntu
ver 13.10 Live CD/DVD without having the a Live CD/DVD in the drive.

I had copied over files from my old drive to the new 'home partition'
on the 1TByte drive. Under 13.10 they seem to be there fine.
Those files included the iso of Ubuntu 13.10 (and 14.04)
just sitting in a directory. In an attempt to stop it from booting
13.10 , from the 13.10 terminal I did:
cd <dir>
sudo rm ubuntu-13.10-desktop-amd64.iso (I think that was the file name)
it appeared to be gone and so I rebooted - again it came up in the
Live 13.10 !

Any idea what's going on?
