Somehow "slow keys" on All Settings>Universal Access>Typing had
gotten turned on. Maybe an errant mouse press that I did not notice.
Once I realized this and looked up to see what "slow keys" was,
holde a key down for a prolonged time did produce input but I guess
I dont normally do that.
