Here is a run-down of financial software on linux:

The highlight there is GNUcash, which appears to be pretty much up to
speed with Quickbooks in most accounts.

While there are no official programs for linux which provide tax
forms, Turbotax online works in any web browser, including ones in
linux.
You may want to "try before you buy", by which I mean install Ubuntu
on another partition, and see if it works for you.
If the free alternatives don't suffice for you, there is always the
option of running your needed windows programs in wine. However, for
Quickbooks at least, that doesn't seem to be an option right now:

I apologize for the late reply; your message was quarantined, as you
weren't subscribed to the mailing list. I suggest posting at
ubuntuforums.org, where you'll probably get a quicker response and
more information.
