[Ubuntu-US-PA] new Ubuntu theme

Hehe - I sort of liked the orangish-brown theme, but don't stick with
it for long. After about two weeks of it I customize the heck out of
my GNOME theme.
Thanks for the gconf-editor tip Chris.
I like the two new themes at first glance, but I'll find out once I
use it for a while. I can see myself using the darker (ambiance) over
the lighter one (radiance) - thanks for the right terms Chad!
I agree with Alex, the layout is cleaner.
I don't mind the purplish hues for the default background, but they
make me think of Leopard every time I see them.
Is there an Ubuntu derivative that anyone would recommend?
I've used Xubuntu for some time in addition to Ubuntu.
I was thinking about Linux Mint (probably Flux if not GNOME) and also
CrunchBang (running Openbox). I still haven't made that decision
though and I'm looking to load a new image soon!!!
