Firefox Freeze Up

See, I have been getting the same issue on grooveshark's site and sometimes
on facebook. Mine is not as deep reaching as you comment it is like firefox
is slowing not paying attention to me. Sometimes I will get the "do you
want to kill this script" dialog...which leads me to thinks script, java,
plugin, or flash.
I can not surf really when it enters this "mode" but if I leave it alone for
a period of time it will go to a entered url, go back via the back button
and close but only after some time has passed. Again, it seems as if the
app is doing something else or leaking memory to the point that it is coming
to a stand still. However, everything you say sounds like the "big boy"
version of my problem as I could see a leaking app slowly bring the whole OS
to a stand still...how very M$ I might add.
Did you do a fresh install or do an upgrade? I did an upgrade rather then a
fresh install.
Because after getting ready to post this and I did a quick search
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/817600 Oddly enough they are all
talking about unknown or unfound memory leaks.
This guy has the total loss of system you do:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/782828 I will watch
this one on launchpad to see where it goes..
Then I found this:
http://www.zimbio.com/Ubuntu+Linux/articles/DQw_V5xirXC/Ubuntu+10+04+bug+causing+Firefox+crashes
I think this guy is on the right path. More to the point this sounds like
your problem
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/539772
I will post more on this is I find anything else out....
