Ubuntu is not a good distribution for Multimedia

There's around 2000 supported packages, covering desktop, server and other
uses. It's not just a 'standard desktop'.

Through the unsupported universe and multiverse repositories, it offers as
much as Debian sid and more.

Most of the specific applications you mentioned are in universe, though some
may not build. You could send fixes for those. Also, there is no reason why
we could not improve Ubuntu for use with pro audio tools (in fact, that's
something I have been looking into quite a bit).
