Is you internal ZIP and IDE or SCSI one ? 250 or 100MB ??

I have an IDE 100MB one, this is what I did:


modprobe sg
modprobe ppa
fstab : /dev/hdb4    <mount-point>   auto rw,user,noauto,sync 0 0
mount <mount-point>

then add the sg and ppa modules to  /etc/modules (sg first then ppa, in
that order).
