good idea. now i just need to find out why the synaptics driver seems
to generate mouse button events

reading the docs on the synaptic driver homepage 
        Option          "MaxTapTime"              "0"
should disable all mouse button emulation.

i am quite sure its a hardware issue, because i dual boot this
notebook with ubuntu/xp and it happens only with ubuntu.
