Install Windows (dual-boot) after a default Ubuntu install - Possible?

Greetings,

I have Ubuntu installed on my laptop, using a default install. My wife wants to use the laptop to
play a WMV movie file, so I need to install Windows XP on the laptop as well. I would like to be
able to dual-boot, without losing any of my Ubuntu stuff.

I tried GnuParted but it wouldn't allow me to resize the existing root partition (so that I could
create a new FAT32 partition). I think from the command line it gave an error about file-system not
passing integrity check.

Is it possible to install Windows XP AND keep my Ubuntu?

Thanks,

Tristan
