Uh-oh. Sounds like something's wrong there.

Why not try fix it?

Depends on how you got it to dual boot in the first place. If it's the
standard GRUB bootloader that comes with Ubuntu, it will probably be
installed in the Master Boot Record of the hard disk. You will have to
replace that with the Windows bootloader. If it is Windows 2000 or XP
this involves booting from the XP installation CD into "Recovery
Console", and using the command fixmbr.

After booting in Windows you can use the Windows tools (Disk Management)
to delete the no longer wanted Linux partitions. Or you download
SystemRescueCD which comes with QTParted, to have a nice graphical
partition manager à la Partition Magic: http://www.sysresccd.org/

Well, I actually had some complaints (scsi tape drive and a few other
things) - and then I switched back to Fedora. But I will definitely try
Hoary when that becomes the official release, because I like the Ubuntu
philosophy.
