Synaptic issues

Well, for some reason, every time Synaptic needs to install 
dependencies, it shuts down after I respond to the list of required 
dependencies that it must get or the incompatable programs it must 
remove.  Running it through the terminal did not yield any useful 
information, though it appears to be a segfault issue.  This didn't 
happen before last night's upgrades (I'm using Hoary).  I'm just 
wondering what happened and how to fix it.  Going back to the CD didn't 
work, even.
