I'm having trouble with getting wireless network to install on my IBM
Thinkpad T23.

I have a Linksys WPC11 V3 PC Wireless PC Card. The output for cardctl ident is:

Socket 0:
product info: "The Linksys Group, Inc.", "Instant Wireless Network
PC Card", "ISL37300P", "RevA", manfid: 0x0274, 0x1613 funcation: 6
(network)

/etc/network/interfaces is automatically configured by network
settings window found in computer->system configuration->networking

iface wlan0 inet static
name Wireless LAN card
wireless_essid xxxxx
wireless_key xxxx
address 192.168.1.150
netmask 255.255.255.0
broadcast 192.168.1.255
network 192.168.1.0
gateway 192.168.1.1

When I run the ifup wlan0 command, I get this error:

Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A):
SET failed on device wlan0; No such device.
Error for wireless reuqest "Set ESSID" (8B1A):
SET failed on device wlan0; No such device.
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
