USB CDRom

I have an USB CDRom Drive that doesn't automagically get mounted when
I put a CD into it.
The appropriate line in /etc/fstab is
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
The interesting thing is that the command
'sudo mount /dev/sg0 /media/cdrom1' works like a charm.
Should I change my fstab or is there a reason as to why there is not
/dev/scd0 that I should fix.
Thanks,
daniel
