Quicktime Trailers for PPC problems

I'm trying to get MPlayer installed on the PPC version of Ubuntu, but
I'm not having much luck. I've never tried installing MPlayer from
source before - so I may be doing something entirely stupid, but I
don't _think_ I am.

The build instructions I'm using are the ones at:

http://www.oldskoolphreak.com/tfiles/hack/ubuntu.txt

I'm configuring and compiling doing the usual:

./configure --enable-gui ;make clean; make; sudo make install

MPG video and audio work fine - I can still watch the dancing monkey
boy with no problem. :)

However- I'm able to play Quicktime Trailers and _see_ the
video stream, but I don't seem to have the audio codec to support the
trailer.

The error I'm getting seems to be popular on Google:

"Requested audio codec family [qdmc] (afm=qtaudio) not available"

But I'm unable to find a solution to this problem. Does anyone know
if this is a PowerPC specific problem or if it's just something I've
misconfigured?
