Yes. Maybe you can store a keyfile somewhere (floppy/cdrom/smartcard/hd)
and use this to access your encrypted file system ...

Recommended is aes but there are a lot more solutions like blowfish,
twofish or des (see "modprobe -l |grep crypto").
