Lee, I've had the same problem as you (just switched over to Ubuntu from
FC2), and I was wondering if you managed to compile it from source. I
tried to do so but ran into the following problem:
> checking for gaim... Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config
> search path.
> Perhaps you should add the directory containing `glib-2.0.pc'
> to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
> Package 'glib-2.0', required by 'Gaim', not found
The problem is that I don't have 'glib-2.0.pc' on my system and not
sure where to find it (i'm a linux newbie).
I found a compiled .deb package with gaim + gaim-encryption, but it
won't install on Ubuntu because it conflicts with the gaim version
installed by Ubuntu. Since gaim-encryption isn't in the Ubuntu
universe, the it seems the only way to get gaim-encryption is to intall
from source. Any help? Thanks!
