Can't set start of week in Gnome/Evolution clock-calender

If you click on the panel clock (Clock 2.8.1) you get a small
calender, which seems to be connected with Evolution in some way, ie
Evolution is started if a date is double clicked, and appointments in
Evolution turns up in the calendar, BUT the "Week starts"-setting
(week_start_day in the GConf editor) in Evolution does not affect the
panel calendar. The week start was in fact already set to Monday when
I opened Evolution for the first time, but the panel calendar insists
on showing Sun(day) as first day of week, which is (more than)
slightly annoying. I've looked around in the GConf editor but I've
only found the Evolution settings, not the panel calendar's settings.
I guess this a Gnome question, but since it applies to Ubuntu, I start
here. What have I missed?
(On a related matter, I reckon that the double click might open any
tool, where do I configure that?)
