if the modules are available in your /lib/modules/`uname -r` dir:

sudo modprobe snd_mixer_oss

should pull in both of them.....(and provide the /dev/dsp you need)

the games you are referring to are both using the sdl layer, fire up
synaptic and search for libsdl. ubuntu installs libsdl1.2debian-oss by
default, but there are also libsdl1.2debian-esd and
libsdl1.2debian-alsa, you may get better results by replacing with one
of these.
