IRQ problems

Hiya,

I've had this problem with warty and now hoary.

If i leave the machine alone for say 10/15mins i get a system beep and
a console message saying that is disaling an IRQ. I thought it was a
hardware problem until recently. The IRQ that is disables consistantly
changes.

After the IRQ is disabled the systems is pretty unusable. Well any
open apps can be used but i cant even start new apps and nautilus
doesnt seem to want to work.
Id be more specfic but there is no output other than the disabling IRQ
# message, and once a message saying "no-one cared"?? which confuses
the heck out of me.

Any advice, pointers et al. would be much appreciated
