partioning power pc and OSX/ubuntu dualboot

When I first had my Powerbook, I had Gentoo & OSX dual boot, with 
Gentoo was able to read (and IRCC) write the HFS+ partition.

After a while I got bored with building everything, and never used 
OSX, so now there is just Ubuntu on the whole disk.

So, in principle, it is possible, but I don't know the precise Ubuntu 
details.
