I just tried gl-117 (found it in synaptic), it looks nice and fluid, no
doubt that the 3D is working, but sadly after 3 minutes, as I was
looking at all the audio/video options, it hung :o(

Maybe my ATI board is defective. In a few month (broke right now.. :-/ )
I will try buying a used ATI Radeon off of Ebay, even if I take the
cheapest of the Radeon range, it will still be dozens of tiems more
performant than my Rage 128.

Or maybe it's just some problem with XFree, that could be solved, but I
guess it would take a super mega brilliant guru to find what's wrong, so
it's kinda hopeless I guess :o(

That said, I am very impressed to see that 1) 3D works on Linux 2)
Ubuntu got 3D working out of the box, didn"t have any driver to install,
no conf file to tweak nothing.
This alone has me impressed, and confident for the future :o)
