Sound : Okay, accirding to synpatic I laready had the 'liby2' part
installed, so I just had to install the yiff-server package, which I
found in Synpatic also. Installed it.
Problem : it starts with crap default (8 bit mon 11KHz) which produce
horrible/weird noises. The config file comes with all the common audio
modes preconfigured, so I just did yset audio Play16Stereo44100 to set
it to 16 bit stereo at 44KHz, but it hangs ! From that point on, any
command related to Yiff hangs as well, including SearchAndRescue when I
try to turn the sound on. And restarting the Gnome session doesn't help,
I really must reboot the machine to get rid of the crashed Yiff server.
Now I don't have a clue what's wrong ! :o(

3D: the game certainly doesn't use 3D, why I don't know, I mean 'Tux
Racer' seems to use it, as the graphics are not too bad and very fluid.
When I start SearchAndRescue from teh command line, itprints this error
message : "SearchAndRescue requires an alpha channel, current alpha
channel is 0 bits in size."

Could this be related to the lack of hardware 3D rendering ?? Does that
help to solve the problem ?? :o(

Sometimes, when starting it displays a "Open GL" logo. Does 'Tux
Racer' use OpenGL for Hardware rendering ?
Is there another Open GL game I could try to see if Open GL works ?

I am very furstrated to have no sound nor 3D, but I think if I can get
them to work, I will really love the game, so would be great if we could
figure it out :o(
