No, I am using the snd-bt87x - it was a mistake in my initial mail.
Though the btaudio module is also loaded.

I do not remember which packages was upgraded - but a lot.
I have since on an identical machine done a barebone install of Warty
prerelease, dist-upgraded to Warty with the same result as described
earlier. The new thing is that I did dist-upgrade to Hoary and now i
have got my /dev/dsp1 and /dev/dsp2 devices back.
I have not yet had time to test that I actually got sound through
these devices, but I certainly hope I will see no further problems.
Do not know what is missing/failing in Warty, so for now I will be
migrating to Hoary shortly to fix this problem on my primary machine.
Thank you for all suggestions - even though we did not nail the problem.
