Hi
I just re-installed ubuntu after having used it these last two weeks.
I obtained another (small) hard drive to run windows 2000 from and put
ubuntu on my main 80gb drive. During the installed I formatted 30gb
as fat32 and chose the label 'windows' from the mount point choices
list. The main reason to even keep windows is for writing mp3's to my
rio s11 player(hope to find a way in linux to do this?!) and to use
Dreamweaver/Fireworks for web design. I absolutely love this program,
so i need to have windows until I can afford a mac or they port it to
linux.
Anyways, I installed Dreamweaver to this /windows (d:) drive and when
I booted ubuntu I noticed that it ran a long series of checks on this
drive return some strange warning signs?
My question is : Is bad to have this directory in the / ?
Will it cause problems down the road?
I glance at the FHS(filesystem hierarchy standard doc) and took note
that it warns agains putting new items in /.
What does the ubuntu hive mind think??
