Nvidia 6800 GT 256 + AMD X64

I have an NVIDIA 6800 video card and ran into similar problems. I
don't think Ubuntu has amd64 nvidia drivers in deb packages yet, even
though they should. For now I edited by XFree86-Config file to just
use "vesa". It sucks, but I don't know what else to do, since I
cannot get the .run files from the nvidia website to even install the
driver correctly either. It sees my SATA drivers, but keeps trying to
load and unload my primary and secondary sata drives, anyone know a
fix for this?
